Heading west, we will approach the beach town of Santa Monica, home to the Santa Monica Pier with its ferris wheel and merry-go-round. The fabulous Third Street Promenade, in the Bayside District of Santa Monica, makes an excellent destination for shopping and dining. We'll continue along the coastline to Venice Beach and Muscle Beach, known for its canals, beaches and circus-like Ocean Front Boardwalk, a two-and-a-half mile pedestrian-only promenade that features street performers, fortune-tellers, artists and vendors.  You can watch the bodybuilders on Muscle Beach and stroll along the musicians' boardwalk where vendors sell their wares and fresh, mouth-watering food. Venice is an exciting stop! The world famous Venice Beach Boardwalk is not to be missed as it is Southern California's number one visitor attraction. Last, but definitely not least, is Malibu an affluent, beachfront city consisting of a 21-mile strip of prime Pacific coastline. The community is famous for its warm, sandy beaches, and for being the home of many Hollywood Movie Stars and others associated with the entertainment industry. Most Malibu residents live within a few hundred yards of Pacific Coast Hwy which traverses the city, with some residents living up to a mile away from the beach up narrow canyons. Malibu's beaches include Surfrider Beach, Zuma Beach, Malibu State Beach, Topanga State Beach, Point Zuma State Beach and Dan Blocker Beach
